I have a theory about Fridays. I know that most people dread Monday. But for me, it’s normally Friday. Friday is the end of the week, the work week, but it’s also the END OF THE WEEK. For me that means that every little issue, problem and catastrophe seems to culminate on Friday. Friday never seems smooth. All the crap that built up all week seems to just explode by Friday. Run out of groceries, yup. Crack in windshield, yup. Kids’ schedules waaay different on Friday, yup. Computer issues, yup. Arguments with the oldest kid, yup. Feeling like I never should have gotten out of bed, YES. So, on these days, a day like TODAY, I need an escape. Could it be a drink? Maybe. Long drive? Not in this town. Hot bath? it’s freakingwaytoohot degrees out, so nope. For me, and its going to sound silly and strange (but maybe not to you Disney fans like me) I need a coffee in a favorite Disney mug and I crank Reedy Creek Radio, LOUD, while I work, clean, whatever. Because it’s my escape into the world of Disney Parks. The ride music, the monorail spiel, the show music, Illuminations, WISHES (sorry Happily Ever After, you’re second in my heart), the Parade music. And I am transported to my happy place, the Happiest Place on Earth. And the stress just starts to melt away. I drift into my happy little Disney place and pretend I’m in the parks. And I smile. I close my eyes and sigh, ahhhhh….then the dang phone rings and I gotta be Mom’s taxi service. BUUUTTTT…..I have bluetooth in the car and I can stream that station right there. Loudly. Embarrassing the kids. Yup. My work here is done.
